Decorating For A Boy
Redecorating for a child who has outgrown the look that the room was once done is can be a very exciting time in not only your life but in your young mans life. You need to make sure that the style you decorate this room is will show the personality of your little guy. Have them be able to put in some input as far as what is bought to do the room in, color and accessory wise.
The first thing you need to figure out when going to decorate your boys room is what kind of theme you want the room to be in. But remember that if your boy is old enough he should be able to pick a theme for the room. This is a great way to do a project as a family and to have your young one feel like they have accomplished something. Maybe the theme will be a favorite cartoon of his or even a movie whose characters he loves. Whatever it is make sure the theme is set before beginning the project.
You may run into the problem of it being harder to decide on what theme the room should be in. In that case you should go and find maybe a favorite color of your boys, or something else that may well be used for a theme. Than you will need to check what kinds of furnishings you want to add into the room.
When you have figured out the theme you can now go and clear out the room and begin buying the new items. Not the bed of course, since your child will still be sleeping in the room but the other wall hangings from the old theme and all that. Remember if you can to include your child in this step too they may find a perfect picture that goes great with the theme.
How about a jungle theme you can get those walls and paint them in some nice greens or browns; adding in some borders that have jungle pictures on them or a bedspread that has some animals from the jungle on them. Don’t forget to add a nice jungle themed rug to the room.
Sports are another thing that a lot of boys just love. So whether you have picked a favorite team and do the colors in the room in those team colors or simply just picked a sport you can find some great things that go with this theme.
Themes such as space or dinosaurs or Toy Story or race cars can all be supported by themed merchandise. The young man can be immersed in a world of his choosing.
A unique idea is to have your little guy paint on a wall, this will be their own addition to the room, and will surely bring in their personality. Plus it will be an excellent way to let out some of his creative juices. Or go and have a football field placed on the wall with a picture of your little guy running down the field. Either way it will add nicely to the room.
Planning a room with your growing boy will be fun for all of you, and it will also allow your child to get a look that is one of a kind.
