Difference Between 2005 And 2009 GMC Denali Model

The 2005 GMC Denali is GMC’s version of the General Motors SUVs along with Chevrolet and Cadillac nameplates. But now, their latest addition is the 2009 GMC Denali. The 2009 Denali has a muscular form and wide firmly planted stance gives it an aura of confident road presence. Minimal overhangs, large wheels, sleek headlamps and a low roof profile deliver an aggressive and performance-oriented appearance.

The 2005 GMC Denali sports a V8 engine capable of 325 horsepower and a torque of 370 lb/ft. The downside to this power is that you only get around at 12 mpg around the city and a lousy 16 mpg on the highway.

While the Denali 2009, for the first time, GM’s two mode hybrid system will be combined with an E-85 ethanol capable engine. It sports a new and more fuel efficient 4.9L SIDI engine with Active Fuel Management powers. It has an estimated 326 horsepower and its fuel consists of 85% ethanol and 15% gas.

The GM’s Quadrasteer 4-wheel steering of the 2005 GMC Denali can decrease the turning circle at low speeds. It is also manufactured to enhance its stability at higher speeds and when towing. While the 4-link suspension design of the 2009 GMC Denali can reduce body roll and optimize longitudinal compliance. It uses a coil over shocks and a decoupled stabilizer that enhances the cowering control. This gives the 2009 GMC Denali the capability of hauling a cargo on twisted roads.

The concept of a unibody structure of the 2009 Denali gave it a truck platform. It even has a payload capacity of 1100 pounds and a 3500 pounds capacity for towing. The stiffness of this model is greater than most conventional body on frame trucks, which gives it a 4-wheel independent suspension mounting point. Allowing this car to have a performance feel on the road.

The 2005 Denali can accommodate up to 9 persons with its 3 row seats. The third row though can be folded, flipped, slides or easily removed depending on your needs. The second row can also be individually adjusted: offering excellent support. But the 2009 model only has a two-row seat. And if you are carrying a longer object in the bed like a ski or surf, you can just open the midgate to remove the second row seats.
